Glutaric acidemia type 2

What are the main symptoms of glutaric acidemia type 2?

Babies with glutaric acidemia type 2 who have not been treated or are sick often have poor appetite, low blood sugar, trouble breathing, an odor of sweaty feet, weak muscles, vomiting, diarrhea, irritability and tiredness. If they do not get medical care, these symptoms can progress to seizures and coma.

Some babies with severe cases of glutaric acidemia type 2 are born with physical differences or defects in the heart, brain, kidneys or genitals.
